Zambia and Germany have commenced government to government negotiations on development cooperation for the period 2023 to 2024.

Secretary to the Treasury, FELIX NKULUKUSA, who is Zambia’s delegation leader to the Germany Capital, Berlin, says the negotiations are aimed at defining Germany’s framework of support for the period 2023 to 2024.

Speaking during the opening session, Mr. NKULUKUSA told the meeting that Germany’s current support in various sectors is aligned with Zambia’s national priorities in the Eight National Development Plan.

This is contained in a statement availed to ZNBC News in Lusaka.

He said Zambia will also scale-up interventions that promote transparency and accountability in the 8NDP.

Mr. NKULUKUSA told the bilateral gathering meeting that Zambia will undertake legal and judicial reforms to strengthen democratic and fiscal governance.

Meanwhile, German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, SVENJA SCHULZE said the strong and close partnership between the two countries is based on the common goal of fighting poverty and inequality as well as promoting the rule of law, democracy and human rights.
