A number of banks have partnered with government in facilitating the disbursement of loans under the Constituency Development Funds -CDF- loan component.
Ministry of Local Government Permanent Secretary Administration, MAAMBO HAMAUNDU, says about 2.9-million Kwacha has been made available per Constituency under the loan component of CDF to all the 156 constituencies.
Mr. HAMAUNDU is confident that all loans will be given out before the end of the year.
He says cooperatives or individuals can now apply to access 200,000 Kwacha which is to be paid in a period of two years at a 5 percent simple interest.
Mr. HAMAUNDU has further advised applicants who had applied before to resubmit their applications using the new standard application form that has been circulated to all the Constituencies to be used by the banks.
And Mr. HAMAUNDU has disclosed that there has been progress on grants and bursaries under CDF.
