About 725 students that enrolled at the Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies LIBES using the Constituency Development Fund CDF are currently undergoing skills training.
College Principal IGNITIUS LUBINDA says the institution targets to train over 1400 students before the end of the year.
Mr. LUBINDA says the students are being equipped with various skills that will see them sustaining their livelihood and families.
He says a majority of the students have been drawn from rural areas based on their desire to be part of the development agenda.
Mr. LUBINDA says the initiative is in line with Government’s policy to have locals develop their communities using their skills.
Mr. LUBINDA was speaking when Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Technical Services NICHOLAS PHIRI visited the school to interact with the students that enrolled through the CDF component.
Meanwhile, Mr. MWALE said Government will ensure that the skills acquired by the students will be utilized positively.
